[ Size ] Blade length 69.99cm (2 shaku 3 sun 1 bu 0 rin), sori 1.5cm (5 bu 0 rin), moto-haba 2.93cm, moto-kasane 0.54cm, saki-haba 1.84 cm, saki-kasane 0.40cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 636g , shirasaya length 100cm, koshirae length 100cm
[ Period ] Edo, middle of.
[ Province ] Echizen

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. There are some diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Shallow sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is iri-yama-gata. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada with some changes which give jinage masa-tone. More or lees, grained pattern come to be appeared to surface, hada-tatsu state. Jinie attached. Bold chikei appeared.
Hamon : Sugu-ha tone. Shallow notare pattern mixed. Deep nioi appeared. Ko-nie attached. Kin-sens and sunagashi appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Form is ko-maru. It turns deep.

Sword plaster pattern, dragonfly, vinegared design, line drawing, black roiro-nuri scabbard, uchigatana-koshirae: sword guard with spider design (inlaid inlay in the shape of a tree on iron), sword guard with warrior design (inlaid inlaid in gold on shakudo), battle design on rim (inlaid inlaid in gold on shakudo)

[ Highlight ] Yamashiro Daijo Fujiwara Kunitsugu is said to be a swordsmith from the Echizen Shimosaka school. The first generation around the Keicho era was called Yamada Shichirobei, the second generation around the Keian era, and the third generation around the Kanbun and Enpo eras. The Jigane has a straight blade with a slow, curved pattern and a deep nioi with a slight nie effect.

[ Conditions ] It is old polishing, but can be preserved and appreciated in its current state. There is a 2 cm long piece of buried iron in Shinogi-ji around the monouchi on the reverse side.

[ Attachments ] Habaki (silver, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya, koshirae,bag of koshirae and NBTHK Tokubetsu Kicho paper(issued on 28th June Showa 44(1968)).
