[ Size ] Blade length 74.2cm (2 shaku 4 sun 4 bu 8 rin), sori 3.0cm (9 bu 9 rin), moto-haba 3.65cm, moto-kasane 0.74cm, saki-haba 2.69 cm, saki-kasane 0.50 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 850.5g, shirasaya length 102.5cm

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Strong koshi-zori attached. Chuki-kissaki comes to be shortended. Ikubi taste form.
Engravings : Both on omote and ura, there are bo-hi grooves. They stop in round form above machi-ue.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kais. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Rich jinie attached. Fine chikei appeared.
Hamon : Cho-ji-midare. O-cho-jis and togari-bas mixed. Deep nioi appeared. Ashis appeared well. It is so blight and rich in varitations.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. It turns in ko-maru form.

[ Highlight ] Masaharu Kashiyama, whose real name is Noboru Kashiyama, was born in Gosho Village, Tokushima Prefecture. He learnt sword making from his fellow countryman Kobayashi Ittosai Masakiyo, and later studied under living national treasure O-sumi Toshiihira and the mukannsa Kawachi Kunihira. Many of the works are modeled on the masterpieces of the Bizen Ichimonji. This piece, too, is a magnificent piece of work, with its cool jigane iron and gorgeous cho-ji-midare hamon, demonstrating excellent workmanship.
