[ Highlight ]Nagamune was a samurai of the Aizu clan and is said to have been a student of the successor to Miyoshi Nagamichi, who flourished in Aizu for nine generations from the middle of the Edo period to the end of the Edo period. He made signatures such as "Aizu samurai by Minamoto Nagamune" and "Nagamune". The highlight of this work is the bright blade pattern with a bright nioi-kuchi, which shows the influence of the style of the master, who was known as Aizu Kotetsu. Although small in size, the blade is slightly thicker and sharper than the length of the sword. The handle is decorated with a Matsuba design in two-colour vermilion lacquer, and is housed in a black-lacquered aikuchi koshirae made in the late Edo period.
