[ Period ] Muromachi, second half of.
[ Province ] Unkonown

[ Feature ]
Form : Hira-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is narrow. Kasane is thick. No sori attached. Saki-haba is becoming narrower.
Engraving : Both on omote and ura, there are bo-his.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sgari. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole. A two-character signature is inscribed "⬜︎ 光", a little further down the front mekugi hole, from the mune.
Jigane : Itame-hada, grained patterns tends to be appeared on the surface. Some changes mixed.
Hamon : Konie based hoso-sugu-ha.
Boushi : -

[ Highlight ] It has a thick, sharply layered, armoured-through appearance. It is characterised by its long, tailored stems. The barbetted guttering on the front and back of the blade tightens this unique shape and enhances its three-dimensional appeal. The blade is straight with a brilliant edge.

[ Conditions ] There are horizontal scuffs, flaws and minor rust. The first letter of the two-character signature is illegible. The registration certificate states 'Kane' in ⬜︎.

[ Attachments ] Wooden habaki, shirasaya and bag of shirasaya.
