[ Size ] Blade length 74.9cm (2 shaku 4 sun 7 bu 1 rin), sori 1.4cm (4 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 3.21cm, moto-kasane 0.79cm, saki-haba 2.32 cm, saki-kasane 0.53 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 868.5g, shirasaya length 104cm
[ Period ] Muromachi, very end of
[ Province ] Bungo

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is ordinal. Kasane is relatively thick. Saki-haba maintains almost same width as moto-haba. Saki-zori attached. Chû-kissaki, which fukura line has curveture.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole. Machi has been advanced.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached. Chikei appeared. It is some whitish appearance.
Hamon : Togari-bas mixed. Its nioi-kuchi is clear. Ashis and yôs appeared frequently.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. Saki turns in ko-maru.

[ Highlight ]
Takada school had their ancestor Tomoyuki in Bungo province. They rose around Nan-boku chô era. They had flourished during Edo period as well. There were many swords made by Takada school during Muromachi period which had family name Taira so that the swordsmith and swords called Taira-Takada. This sword has a form with thick kasane which refrected their consciousness made much of actual battle. At first glance, it is similar to Sue-Bizen swords but nioi-kuchi tends to be clear, jigane shows whitish color. So that this sword is regarded as Takada school's sword. Similarity of hamon to Sue-Bizen swords, it tends to be often evaluated and compared with them. However, there is an opinion that it should be given fair evaluation not comparaison but observing upon its own characteristics. One can study Takada school's swords, it is useful to read Swords of Ôita prefecture "大分県の刀-室町期からの-" by Mr. NAKAHARA Nobuo. It is possible to introduce the book at our shop. Please ask us freely.

Conditions ]
Excellent. There is small trace of rust at habaki-moto. It is one of characteristic of Takada school's swords which made during Muromachi period.
