[ Size ] Blade length 32.4cm (1 shaku 0 sun 6 bu 9 rin), sori 0.2cm (6 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 2.83cm, moto-kasane 0.61cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 184g , shirasaya length 46cm, koshirae length 53.5cm
[ Period ] Muromachi, second half of.
[ Province ] Mino

[ Feature ]
Form : HIra-zukuri. Mihaba is relatively wide. Moto-kasane is a little thick. A little bit, sori attached. Sun-nobi form tanto.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are shallow katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Engraving : (omote) bo-his, (ura) goma-bashi.
Jigane : Itame-hada, well grained. Jinie attached. Shireke-utsuri appeared.
Hamon : Sugu-ha tone. Sequenced ko-gunomes mixed. Ko-nie attached. Sunagashi appeared.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. (omote) it has round shape (ura) hakikake, with sharp end. It turns relatively deep.

Wakizashi with blue-shelled scabbard : Fuchi-kashira with crawling dragon design (carved in high relief with gold coloured painting on shako gilt), sword guard with strokes of an octagonal shape (polished red copper with silver cover), menuki with figure design (carved in high relief with gold coloured painting on red copper), small handle with flower design (carved in gold coloured painting on red copper gilt) with metalwork in the style of a stone pommel.

Scabbard : (front) Mino Province, Kanesada Seki, length approx. 7' long, flat structure, live core with a signature / (back) year of Showa in twenty seven, Tatsu April, Kyoku, Honami Koson (Kao).
Box label : (Front) Mino Province, Seki Kanesada, short sword, hito-kuchi / (Back) Length: 7.5cm, flat, fresh, with a signature on the back, dated April, 1937.

[ Highlight ] The Jigane is well grained, with a shireke-utsuri, a straight blade with a ko-gunome pattern and attached ko-nie effect, and a blade with a fine sunagashi pattern. From the sheath and box, it is thought to have been sharpened by Honami Koson. Izumino-kami Kanesada and Kanemoto are the most famous of the Seki swordsmiths, who flourished in the Muromachi period after Bizen swordsmiths. It is known that there were several Kanesada with the same signature.
