Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is relatively wide. Kasane is ordinal. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. Two holes. Machi has been advanced.
Jigane : O-itame-hada. Jinie attached. It shows shira-ke-utusuri state.
Hamon : Sugu-ha tone. Notare and gunome-bas mixed. Nie attached well. Fine kin-sens and sunagashis appeared frequently.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi form. It shows yakitusme taste.

[ Highlight ] Tomotsugu was a swordsmith of the Uta school in Ecchu. The earliest Tomotsugu work dates from the Nanbokucho period (1387-1389), and this swordsmith is classified as a member of the Ko-Uta school, called Kunimitsu-mon. Thereafter, there are other works with the signature "Tomotsugu" from the Oei period and "Tomotsugu" or "Uta Tomotsugu" from the Bunmei period, followed by a work from the 12th year of the Eisho period with the signature "Tomotsugu Saku", said to be made by a resident of Kawasaki village, Tonami County, followed by a work dated to the 4th year of the Tenmon period with the signature " Etchu Kawasaki Sumitomoji Saku" and a work with the signature "Tomotsugu" in two characters from the Tensho period. The sword has a slightly rough base and tip, with a white reflection on the base and tip, and a straight blade with well-attached nie, with kin-sen and sunagashi.
