[ Feature ]
Form : This is a small wakizashi with a shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, length, width and thickness that are all ordinary, a slight curvature, and a medium cutting edge.
Nakago : The tang is raw, with a kiri file mark, a tip kuri-jiri cut, and one mekugi hole.The tang is raw, with a kiri file mark, a tip kuri-jiri cut, and one mekugi hole.
Jigane : The jigane has an itame-hada texture, with some slight skin and ji-nie, and a jikei pattern.
Hamon : The hamon is straight, with a mutered tachi-hada pattern and a long ashi foot.
Boushi : It is straight, small and round, with a long tempered.

[ Highlight ] Chigusa Arikoto was a court noble of the late Edo period.He studied poetry under Tadayoshi Ichijo, Prince Arisugawa Taruhito, and Michiaya Kuze, and became a master of poetry, reaching the rank of Sho-sanmi (third rank in the court hierarchy) and Sakonefu gon no Chujo (commander of the left wing of the imperial guard). He was a lover of swords and forged them himself, learning the art from Tomotaka Morioka (Nankai Taro), who became the guardian of Iga no Kami Kinmichi in Kyoto, and Toshihide Ohori.He engraved his own poem, ‘Yaki-tachi wa sayo ni osamete masurawo no kokoro masumasu togu bekari keri,’ in a stylised form of kana on a sword blade he forged himself. He was born in 1796 and died in 1854 at the age of 58. This wakizashi is of the shinogi-zukuri style and has a light and beautiful design.

[ Conditions ] There is some minor rust from old polishing.
