[ Highlight ]
Wide mihaba, hira-zukuri form. Mixing masame noticeable especially upper part of blade. Well grained jigane. Suguha tempered ko-wakizashi. Hidetada was a swordmith at Dewa province in second half of Edo period. He was a pupil of Suishinshi Masahide. He worked actively as a hired swordmith of Motegi family, Jyû-ni-sho-jô catstle retainer in charge during his master's absence jô-dai. There are signature of creation year as Bunsei 12 "文政十二", Tenpô 9 "天保九" and Kaei 3 "嘉永三". The sword which had signature "天保九年", it could be calculated that he was 56 years old at that time. This sword also seemed to be created around Tenpô, considering the style of stamp and features. Restraing the decorations, smooth kizami-zaya shows nice design. Chi-sa gatana koshirae seemed to be created at the end of Edo period Bakumatsu. The koshirae remains trace of owner at that time. This is also precious from the cultural history appreciation point of view. Attaching preferable kozuka, kô-gai and sageo, it improves the appearance.

[ Conditions ]
The sword has been polisehd already. Shirasaya made newly in a past few years. Neither kozuka nor kôgai attached. At the bottom of kurigata, which attached to saya, there is a trace of repairment.
