[ Highlight ] The Bicchu Mizuta school is a group of swordsmiths who forged swords mainly in the Bicchu Mizuta area, but also in the surrounding areas of Azae, Matsuyama and Ebara. Among them, Saemonjo Kunishige, Sahei Kunishige and Jyusuke Kunishige are representative of the Ko-Mizuta school, who emigrated from neighbouring Bingo and Bizen in the late Muromachi period (from the Taiei era onwards) to form their own school in the same country. This work is an shobu(iris)-zukuri wakizashi with a two-character 'Kunishige' inscription, and has a hitatsura blade with ara-nie, with the entire sword blade composed of midare-bas, tobi-yaki tempering and muneyaki blades, representing the late Muromachi period style of the Bicchu Mizuta school.

[ Conditions ] There is a small scratch on Shinogi-ji about 3 cm above the back of the blade. There is light rust on the edge of the blade about 6 cm above the machi, front side.
