[ Period ] Muromachi
[ Province ] Satsuma

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is ordinal. High shinogi-suji attached. Koshi-zori attached. Chu-kissaki extended form.
Nakago : Suri-age. Yasurimes are kiri. Saki is kiri. One out of three holes filled.
Jigane : Itame-hada, with some changes which tends to become masa. Base grained patterns come to be surface. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Ko-gunomes mixed. Kui-chiga-bas and yubashiri appeared. Nie attached well. Sunagashi appeared frequently.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns sharply. Saki shows hakikake form.

[ Highlight ] It is made in the shinogi style, with itame (graininess) running through the skin and a slight alternating graininess, which is characteristic of the Shikkake school, one of the five Yamato schools. The sword has an imposing body, despite its suriage finish, and is a piece full of the high spirit that is typical of Yamato-mono.

[ Conditions ] Excellent.

[ Attachments ] Habaki(suaka-ji, gold foiled, single), shirasaya, bag of shirasaya and NBTHK Tokubetsu hozon paper (issued on 12th August Heisei 21(2009)).
