[ Size ] Blade length 62.6cm (2 shaku 0 sun 6 bu 6 rin), sori 1.0cm (3 bu 3 rin), moto-haba 2.84cm, moto-mune-kasane 0.57cm, moto-shinogi-kasane 0.60 cm, saki-kasane 0.38 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 502.5g , shirasaya length 89cm
[ Period ] Muromachi, second half of. Daiei "大永" 7(1527)
[ Province ] Bizen

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. Relatively high shinogi-suji attached. Shallow sori attached. Relatively short length. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada. Mokumes mixed. A little grained patterns come to be surface. Rich jinie attached. Fine chikei appeared. Midare-utsuri come to be appeared.
Hamon : In botom opened gunomes, ko-gunomes and cho-ji-bas mixed. It show notare hamon, konie attached. Fine sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. It turns in ko-maru form.

[ Highlight ] The Sukesada was one of the most prosperous of the Osafune smiths, known as Suebizen, in the late Muromachi period (1336-1573). This sword has a slightly thin shinogi, a shallow curvature and a slightly tight profile. It is well forged with itame (wood grain) and has a clear random pattern of reflections. The blade is well worked and powerful.
