[ Highlight ] Tsuneie is known as one of the best Oei Bizen craftsmen after Morimitsu, Yasumitsu and others. Originally from the Hatakeda school, the first generation is said to date back to the middle of the Kamakura period, but works dating back to the Oei period are extremely rare. Not only did he specialise in gunome blades, he also excelled at straight blades such as this one. This piece has a slender figure, with a light reflection on the jigane of the itame-hada with mokume grain, and a gentle, medium straight blade style, well demonstrating the style of the Oei Bizen.
