[ Size ] Blade length 45.0cm (1 shaku 4 sun 8 bu 5 rin), sori 1.2cm (6 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 2.88cm, moto-kasane 0.58cm, saki-haba 2.13 cm, saki-kasane 0.49 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 491.5g , shirasaya length 73cm

[ Province ] Echizen

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. High sori attached. Chu-kissaki form.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are suji-kais. Saki is ha-agari, kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada with some changes. Jinie attached. It has some black coulour.
Hamon : Ko-nie based, with gunome-midare. Midare-bas in ko-moyo pattern mixed. Ko-ashis and ha and sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. Saki turns in ko-maru form.

[ Highlight ] This work is inscribed on the front "Kobayashi Ise no Kuniteru" and on the back "August, Kanbun 12", but from the inscription it appears to be a later inscription. The sword is thought to have been made by the Echizen Shimosaka School, based on the blackish Hokuriku jigane iron. The surface of the blade is itame with changes, and the blade pattern is alternating with ko-nies. It has a lovely wild flavour.
