[ Province ] Bizen

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, high shinogi-suji, wide body, curved at the tips, and medium cutting edge extending.
Nakago : It is ubu, with a katte-sagari, and the tip is raised.
Jigane : It has a slightly rough itame-hada with mixed mokume-grain, flowing in places, with jigane and jigane-hada.
Hamon : It is a wide straight blade with a shallow curve, mixed with ko-gunome and small irregularities, small ashi and yo, a tight hamon, small nie, sunagashi, and occasional burning of the ridge.
Boushi : It is straight with a small round tip, swept at the tip, boiling, and long burn.

[ Highlight ] At the end of the Muromachi period, there were several swordsmiths with the signature ‘Seiko’ in Bizen, including Magome, Gorozaemon, Yozaburozaemon, Hikozaemon, and Magobei, and the same name was used by several generations of swordsmiths.Seiko is known as a master of straight blades alongside Tadamitsu among swordsmiths from the Sue-Bizen period. Although this sword does not bear a common name, it shows the typical style of a Sue-Bizen uchigatana, with a thick, sturdy shape, a forged base with a clear pattern, and a bright, straight blade with well-defined feet and leaves, giving it a domineering appearance.
