[ Size ] Blade length 11cm (3 sun 6 bu 2 rin), moto-haba 1.56cm, moto-kasane 1.27cm, mekugi-ana(holes) 2, blade weight 178.5g , nakago length 71.2cm, shirasaya length 90cm
[ Period ] Edo, end of
[ Province ] Satsuma "薩摩"

[ Feature ]
Form : So small in size equilateral triangle sei-sankaku yari. Shio(kera)-kubi is short. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kuri-jiri. Two holes.
Groove : In the middle of each side of triangle face, there is bô-hi with red paint.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained.
Hamon : Sugu-ha. Nie attached well, which mixed ara-nie. Sunagashis appeared.
Boushi : It runs in hakikake. Then, it turns in komaru.

[ Highlight ]
Motoaki "元明" was a swordsmith, who worked during end of Edo period. He learned swords making under OKU Motohiro, legitimate son of OKU Motohira. There is a tanto sword with his signature "薩州住平元明七十八歳 慶應二年寅八月吉日". His deceased year was first of Meiji (1868).

[ Conditions ]
Long nakago remains its original shape so that it is so precious. Shirasaya was made newly in recent years. Blade and body of yari is so healthy and excellent.
