Form : Hira-zukuri. Iori-mune. Mihaba is ordinal. Kasane is thick. Very shallow sori attached. Fukura curvature comes to be increased.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are katte-sagari. Saki is kiri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained. Mokume mixed. Jinie attached. Part by part, grained pattern comes to be appeared on surface.
Hamon : Chu-suguha. Ko-nie attached. From middle to top, the width of tepered area becoming wider. Nie-ashi appeared.
Boushi : It runs in sugu. It turns in komaru. Saki is haki-kake form.

Tanto that made in the mid-Edo period are few and far between, and this work is a valuable example. Because demand for tantos was low, there are few examples of this type of work, but it was created by Ueno-Daijo Sukesada "上野大掾祐定"", and it was produced during the Edo period. The structure of this work is based on a suitable form for the ages. The body arrangement has features that can be traced back to the lineage of the Osafune school, with attention to detail such as iori-mune's iron distributiion make it higher. When holding in hands, it can be felt longer length of the object compared to the photo. Yokoyama Ko-zuke-no-daijo Sukesada "横山上野大掾祐定" is thought to have been the son of Shichibei-no-jo Sukesada "七兵衛尉祐定", who received the title of Kozuke-no-daijo around Kanbun "寛文" 4 .
