[ Size ] Blade length 72.7cm (2 shaku 3 sun 9 bu 9 rin), sori 1.7cm (5 bu 6 rin), moto-haba 3.24cm, moto-kasane 0.70cm, saki-haba 2.31 cm, saki-kasane 0.44 cm, mekugi-ana(hole) 1, blade weight 735.5g , koshirae length 105cm
[ Period ] Current, Heisei "平成" 9(1997)
[ Province ] Fukuoka prefecture

[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Inori-mune. Mihaba is wide. Kasane is ordinal. High shinogi-suji attached. A little high sori attached. There are some differences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Chû-kissaki extedned.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are ô-suji-kai and keshô. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Engraving (horimono) : Both on omote and ura sides, there are bô-hi grooves, which reach to habaki-moto.
Jigane : Ko-itame-hada well grained. Masa appeared toward tempered area with some changes in its form. Ji-nie attached. Chikei appeared.
Hamon : In gunomes-hamon, chô-jis mixed. Long ashis appeared. Ko-nie attached well. Fine kin-sens and chikei appeared.
Boushi : It runs in shallow midare-komi. Saki is haki-kake. It turns in ko-maru.

Swordsmith Shirô Yasumitsu has his real name KOMIYA Yasumitsu. He was born at Ômuta city, Fukuoka prefecture in Shôwa 31(1956). He began to learn swords creation from his grand-father Shirô Kunimitsu in Shôwa 48(1973). His swordsmith family, Shirô-Kunimitsu "四郎國光" namely, was founded in Tenmei "天明" 6 (1786). Samuraïs were prohibited to carry their swords by the order of the Cabinet in early Meiji era (so called Hai-tô-rei "廢刀令"), they started to make kitchen-kinves and carpenter's outfits. They earned utility models and patents. Effective Shirô Kunimitsu swordsmith resumed to create swords in Shôwa 10(1935), they have been creating swords actively, such as Shirô Kunitada " 四郎國忠", Shirô Yasumitsu "四郎安光", Shirô Kunimitsu (second generation) "四郎國光刀匠(二代)" and Rokurô Kokuten "六郎國天". Shirô Yasumitsu was selected in an exhibition Shi-sakutô tenran-kai "新作刀展覧会" in Heisei 4(1992) for first time. Then he applied his swords continuously so that he devoted himiself to his study. In Heisei 28(2016), he was elected as double awards on his tachi and tantô.

This sword has jigane sufarce which mixed mokume pattern, well grained by ko-itame forging. In gunome hamon, chô-ji mixed. Long ashis, fine kin-sens and sunagashi appeared. Its nioi-kuchi is so clear and bright.

[ Conditions ] Both koshirae and blade maintain excellent conditions.

[ Attachments ] Habaki( brass base, single, gold foiled), koshirae, bag of koshirae and sageo attached balck colored spare sheath.
