[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, width of body and layers are normal, there are some diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba. Sori warp is shallow, and the shape is extended at the tip of the chu-kissaki middle size cut.
Nakago : The stem is shaped o-suriage, yasurimes are kiri, with three mekugi holes.
Jigane : The jigane base iron has itame-grain skin, with a flowing, slightly itame-hada texture and thickly nie attached ground.
Hamon : The blade is shaped with notare and gunomes alternating patterns, with ashis and yos, deeply appeared nioi and well attached nie, with kin-sens and sunagashi.
Boushi : It has a straight small rounded edge and is slightly turned back with a sweep at the tip.

Sword with black painted scabbard finished in uchigatana koshirae. Stone lantern sword guard (inlaid with gold on jigane), Menuki with horse design, Fuchi-kashira with design of waves and plovers (inlaid in colour on jigane base).

[ Highlight ] Uta Kunifusa is said to have been the son of Ko-nyudo Kunimitsu, who emigrated from Yamato Uta-gun to Etchu around Bunpo, and studied under Etchu Norishige. The same name was passed down through several generations and he is known as a master of the Uta school. This piece is characterised by itame-hada grains running down the skin, with a slightly blackened base and a well-attached nie blade pattern, and has been identified as a Kunifusa from the late Nanbokucho period to the early Muromachi period.
