In the book titled "古刀銘尽", it said that the ancestor of Awa Kaifu school were Kaifu Tarô Ujiyoshi and Yasunaga in "康暦"(Kôryaku) period. Actually, the remaining swords which made by Kaifu school were considered mainly created in Muromachi period. They had been created through Shintô era. They might have some relation with Naminohira school taking it into account their style. The swordsmith of Kaifu school also created the knives used by hunters for moutain area activity and wakizashis in sawteeth.
