[ Feature ]
Form : Shinogi-zukuri. Iori-mune. Both mihaba and kasane are ordinal. There are some diffrences between moto-haba and saki-haba.
Nakago : Ubu. Yasurimes are o-suji-kais and kesho. Saki is kuri-jiri. One hole.
Jigane : Itame-hada well grained. Jinie attached.
Hamon : Gunomes, cho-jis and pointy ha blade mixed. Part by part, it shows reverse direction. Ashis appeared frequently.
Boushi : It runs in midare-komi. Saki turns which top shows sharp form.

[ Highlight ] Horii Toshihide cut signatures such as 'Horii Toshihide', 'Zuisen Horii Toshihide', 'Toshihide Saku', 'Muroran Living Horii Toshihide' and 'Toshihide Kinsaku'. Born in Omi in 1881, he later lived in Muroran and became a student of Horii Taneaki, the second generation of the Horii family, who studied under Takei Naotane and Gassan Sadayoshi. He took the signature Kaneaki from 1905 and was adopted by Taneaki in 1911. In December 1933, he changed his name from Toshiaki to Toshihide. He created swords at the Zuisen Forge attached to the Muroran Works of Nippon Steel Works and trained many apprentices. In the Seidai Toushou ranks, he was awarded the highest rank, array of deities, Saijo o-waza-mono, First Rank of Director. He died in 1943 at the age of 58. His works are dated Meiji 38, 40 and 41, Taisho 2, 8, 9, 11 and 15, Showa 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17, etc. This piece is a custom-ordered sword in the style of the master swordsman Toshihide, with a well-defined body with a good curvature, forged surface and well-worked blade, and a turbulent blade with a mixture of even-grained, choji and sharp-edged blades.
