In Kaga province, there were few famous swordsmiths till Kamakura period. In Nanbokuchô period, there appeared Sanekage and Tomoshige schools. Their genealogy flourished effectively. There exist documents which show the evidence of existence Kagemitsu sword around Enbun (1356-1360) in Kaga province. Samasuke, a child of Kashû Iwataki-jû Sanekage as first generation, there existed several generations of Sanekage school till end of Muromachi period apart from Kagemitsu (around Ô-ei) who was considered as younger brother of FUJISHIMA Tomoshige or Sanekage school swordsmith, since the signature was Fujiwara.
